Lesson 7 – Children
Seven General Principles
Bless and Pray for your Children regularly.
Pray for them to understand God’s purpose for their lives.
Do not feel bitter towards your Child, regardless of how he / she behaves.
Discuss your Children with God first before seeking advice from other people.
Do not complain or accuse your Children before God (Zechariah 3:1-2).
Do not be hasty with your Child … Kids do not change overnight.
Do not complicate your prayers … simple single sentence prayers are adequate.
Specific Areas to Pray for your Children
Pray for them to love the Word of God (Psalm 19:10)
Pray for their Honesty, Integrity and Faithfulness (Psalm 25:21)
Pray that they will be Sexually Pure until Marriage (Psalm 51:10)
Pray for their future Spouses (Proverbs 3:5-8)
Pray that they choose the Right Friends (Proverbs 18:24)
Pray for their Prayer Life (Isaiah 56:7)
Pray that they will be fair in their Judgement (Micah 6:8)
Pray for their Salvation (Matthew 18:14)
Pray that they will be Merciful towards Other People (Luke 6:36)
Pray for their Spiritual Growth (Luke 17:5-6)
Pray for them to Witness for Christ (Romans 1:16)
Pray for a Disciplined Life (1Corinthians 9:24-27)
Pray for them to resist Peer Pressure (1Corinthians 10:13)
Pray for the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
Pray for a Healthy Self Image (Ephesians 2:10)
Pray for them to Grow in Love (Ephesians 5:2)
Pray that they have the Heart of Christ (Philippians 2:5-11)
